Hardside waterbed heaters are higher wattage heaters than
softside waterbeds systems.
Typical hardside heaters are in the three hundred watt range. When choosing a new heater, there are typically two systems:
Analog Control Box
Digital Control Box
Analog heaters are less expensive and the control dials are less precise. Digital heaters with their "LED" temperature read out can give you more exact control. It is also "allegedly" more energy efficient.
Thermal Guardian Temperature Control Systems
Quantum Heater
Hardside waterbed heaters
are a 300 watt unit as oppose to softsided heating systems which are usually 120-150 watts. The fastest way to heat a waterbed (when first setting up or replacing a heater) is to warm or hot water when filling. Heaters usually warm a bed a approximately a degree per hour.
